Post-rock metallurgists Deafheaven serenaded a huge throng of crowd-surfers and headbangers on Thursday night at the Echoplex, with frontman George Clarke often “conducting” his band as if leading a classical orchestra. They played the epic “Baby Blue,” the song the 2015 album “New Bermuda” that is often their show-ender, in the middle of the set and also performed songs such as “Brought to the Water,’ “Sunbather,” “Daedalus” and “Pecan Tree.”
HEALTH preceded the headliners with a typically aggressive and menacing set, and Chasms and Wife started the night.
