Fell Runner’s guitarist Gregory Uhlmann has his debut solo album “Odd Job” coming out Feb. 10 on Dog Legs Music. Here’s yet another intriguing chamber-pop track from the record: “Too Much To Bear” builds gently, like a cinematic fog that begins rolling in at the ankles and works its way up to the climactic moment of doom. It would be soothing if it didn’t carry such a sinister tone. As the song goes on, the dual vocals bemoan their fate, the instrumentation gets louder, and eventually some sharp drums come in and strike the final series of blows, sealing this song’s foretold conclusion. Uhlmann, whose other exploits include the bands River Song Quintet, Typical Sisters, Tom Foolery and Aquadeer, work as a sideman in various experimental, jazz, pop and classical projects and composing music for dance, co-produced the album with Tim Carr (ex-Haim).
