Chairlift is going not-so-quietly into the night, the duo of Caroline Polachek and Aaron Pfenning having announced in December they are parting ways, and they are going out with a smile. A packed Echoplex showered the duo with adulation on Saturday night, the first of two L.A. shows this weekend. Their final appearance in SoCal comes at a matinee show today at the ’Plex. On Saturday, the duo beamed as they performed songs from their three full-lengths, including 2016’s “Moth,” as the crowd raised their voices in solidarity.

Kristin Kontrol opened the show with songs from her album “X-Communicate.”
