Folk singer Laura Marling filled the Mayan Theatre with new songs, heavenly harmonies and a little bit of humor on Tuesday night, performing in support of her new album “Semper Femina,” her sixth. Her 16-song set started with the first five tracks from the new album and also included five from 213’s Mercury Prize-nominated “Once I Was an Eagle.” Part way into the set, she lightened the mood by playing “band fact,” where everyone in her band had to share a random fact. Hers was that a bird shat on her early that day and that drummer Matt Ingram scraped it off her shoulder for her.
L.A. quartet Valley Queen opened the show.
Laura Marling setlist: Soothing, Wild Fire, The Valley, Don’t Pass Me By, Always This Way, Next Time, Take the Night Off, I Was an Eagle, You Know, Breathe, Daisy, How Can I, Salinas, Sophia, Once, Rambling Man
