Die Antwoord supply no information about their new record, “The Book of Zef,” aside from saying its their “final” album, following last year’s “Mount Ninji and Da Nice Time Kid.” Last fall, in an interview Ninja allegedly stated that the group would be breaking up in September of 2017. “Die Antwoord dies on that day. It’s all over. I feel beautiful about it. I’m not scared of the end.” But a day later, his counterpart Yolandi Visser posted on Instagram that Die Antwoord was not breaking up and the article had twisted their words. Whether the “final” claim is true or just a joke of some kind, time will tell. Meanwhile, the South African duo offer up an extreme love song that might possibly be their sweetest, paired with a hand-drawn lyric video complete with stickers, bubble letters and doodles. Particularly enjoyed Visser’s notion that love feels like “everything’s covered in slime.”
