At the end of the Flaming Lips’ euphoric night on Tuesday, the only people who weren’t smiling were the janitorial staff at the Theatre at Ace Hotel, who ostensibly would be charged with cleaning up All That Confetti. Led by that pillar of quinquagenarian free spirit, Wayne Coyne, the Oklahoma band visited downtown L.A. in support of their new album “Oczy Mlody” but gave the sold-out theater a set that included “Yoshimi Battles the Pink Robots, Pt. 1,” “She Don’t Use Jelly,” “Do You Realize?” and a cover of David Bowie’s “Space Oddity.” The night also included the new song “There Should Be Unicorns,” and there was, with Coyne saddled up and riding across the stage on one. Coyne did manage a short excursion in his plastic bubble, a tricky thing in a seated venue. The one remaining hope is that All That Confetti was dutifully recycled.

Dutch experimental rockers Klangstof opened the show.

Setlist: Race for the Prize, Yoshimi Battles the Pink Robots Pt. 1, There Should Be Unicorns, Pompeii Am Götterdämmerung, The Yeah Yeah Yeah Song (With All Your Power), What Is the Light?, The Observer, How??, Space Oddity, Feeling Yourself Disintegrate, The Castle, Are You a Hypnotist??, The W.A.N.D., A Spoonful Weighs a Ton, She Don’t Use Jelly, Waitin’ for a Superman, Do You Realize?
