East L.A. band Twin Seas was created by Eduardo Bueno and Jose Cruz, blending a love for 1980s new wave with what they describe as “cheeky ’60s songwriting.” Enlisting Fabian Marquez and Carlos Cassanovas to hold down the rhythm section, the guys write unhurried guitar and keyboard driven melodic pop. “Alpha Pup” has a catchy keyboard line that burrows into your skull and creates a warm nest to incubate Bueno’s crooning. It’s the first single from their self-titled debut, which will be released sometime this year.
