It is time to pull out those jorts, halter tops and classic ’70s T-shirts as Cal Jam is making its return to SoCal after a 43 year absence. The brainchild of Dave Grohl, Cal Jam ’17 will feature a lineup of Foo Fighters, Queens of the Stone Age, Liam Gallagher, Cage the Elephant, Japandroids, the Kills, Bob Mould, Babes in Toyland and at the Glen Helen Regional Park & Fairgrounds on Oct. 7.

There will be an on-site campground, carnival rides, a water park as well as a “Foo Fighters Rock ‘n Roll Museum,” featuring a band retrospective. Campers are encouraged to arrive the day before the festival, as they’ll party with DC legends Big Tony & Trouble Funk, enjoy an outdoor movie theater as well as some additional surprises. Tickets for the one-day festival are $99, plus fees, and go on sale at 10 a.m. on June 29. Camping is extra.

The original Cal Jam, held at the Ontario Speedway in 1974, attracted an estimated 400,000 spectators who saw a lineup that featured Deep Purple, Black Sabbath, the Eagles, ELP and Earth Wind & Fire.
