Dent May‘s latest tune, “90210,” has a nice doo-wop sway meant for slow dancing. Things get perky, like when you press close to one another, but the song was specifically inspired by the culture shock of moving from Mississippi to Los Angeles, so perhaps that romantic hard-on has a jolting connotation of a different kind. Nevertheless, the boy from 39202 seems awe-struck by the new surroundings and optimistic about his prospects. One thing he likes about living here: “No one looks at you funny if you wear a tuxedo to the supermarket.” This is the third single from Dent May’s forthcoming record, “Across The Multiverse”, out Aug. 18 on Carpark Records.
