FivePoint Amphitheatre — the new, 12,000-capacity venue in Irvine — won’t be ready for its planned debut concert this month.

The show featuring Young the Giant and Cold War Kids, planned for Aug. 26, has been moved to Oct. 5, the venue, a project of Live Nation Entertainment, announced today via social media. The postponement was “due to venue construction,” the announcement said.

Tickets for the Aug. 26 show will be honored Oct. 5; refunds available at point of purchase. Tickets range from $29-$40.

The new venue will be located adjacent to Orange County Great Park, site of the former Marine Corps Air Station El Toro. The venue gained approval this spring as a replacement for the razed Irvine Meadows facility.
