There’s one fewer festival on Southern California’s crowded fall music landscape: MainFest Alhambra, which was due to return Sept. 9 for a second year, has been canceled.
A statement on the event’s website cited “unforeseen circumstances,” adding that “The Mainfest Alhambra team regrets the necessity for the cancellation, but wanted to ensure that they deliver the high-quality festival experience that was originally envisioned and executed in 2016, as well as what they feel concertgoers deserve.”
A lineup headlined by Purity Ring, Ghostland Observatory, Broods and Classixx, along with Polica, Poolside and Gavin Turek, was expected to perform at the block party in the downtown area of the San Gabriel Valley city. The festival’s announcement stated that “refunds will be given from the ticket outlet where you purchased your tickets.”
Capital Cities, Miami Horror and !!! (Chk Chk Chk) were among the bands that performed in the 2016 debut of MainFest.
Also happening the second weekend of September: The Ohana Festival at Doheny State Beach, the High & Low Festival at NOS Events Center in San Bernardino, the Day & Night Festival at Angel Stadium and the Sunstock Solar Festival in downtown L.A.
