Who knew being bummed could be so bangin’? The fans at the Teragram Ballroom for the two sold-out shows by Cigarettes After Sex, that’s who. “Hell yeah, I love depressing music!” one fan shouted a few songs into Wednesday’s show, bringing cheers that broke the quietude of the Brooklyn ambient pop group’s show. Without fanfare or much chatter, the band unraveled the music from this year’s self-titled album methodically, putting the crowd — a few of whom had bought tickets for far more than face value — into a 75-minute comfort zone. Frontman Greg Gonzalez played most of the show with his eyes closed, pausing only to utter an occasional “thank you” and to introduce the song “Young and Dumb” by saying, “we all are at some point.” And, near the end of the set, a cover of REO Speedwagon’s “Keep On Loving You,” all melancholy-like.

Setlist: Sweet, Each Time You Fall In Love, Young and Dumb, I’m A Firefighter, John Wayne, K., Sunsetz, Opera House, Affection, Keep On Loving You, Nothing’s Gonna Hurt You Baby, Apocalypse
