Sin Fin make instrumental music for the cinema of the mind — oh, it would work well (and probably has) behind spectacular visuals too, but the Los Angeles trio evokes rich (and for this listener, comforting) imagery with their ambient rock. “Rebirth” is the first new song from the band — bassist Mandy Sewall, guitarist Polo Quintero and percussionist Tom King — since their 2015 EP, “Volver.” “Earlier this year, we had a few hurdles to clear,” King says, “but we are now back to the studio and immersed in new recordings.” In “Rebirth,” the undulating wall of guitar and bass is interrupted by King’s echoing percussion, as if something is knocking on the inside of a womb, trying to get out. It’s mesmerizing, especially the deeper you breathe. Aural yoga.
