Five bands weathered an overheated Sunday afternoon on Chinatown’s Live Music Stage, which kicked into gear in conjunction with the CicLAvia Heart of LA event.

The afternoon ended with a set of electro-pop as bright as the sunshine from Polartropica, which followed a hard-hitting, tuneful set from EasyFriend, playing tunes off their album “Gaunt” (out in January).

The Unending Thread laid down some proggy, sophisticated indie-rock, which followed strong sets from two teenage bands, alt-rockers Love Ghost and indie-rockers Off Task.
