The ecstatic mood of Yeah Yeah Yeahs was matched smile for smile by the celebratory vibe of the full house at the Fonda Theatre on Wednesday night.

Playing their first proper show in four years in advance of their appearance this weekend at The Growlers 6 festival, the trio Karen O, Nick Zinner and Brian Chase used the occasion to revisit their 14-year-old album “Fever to Tell,” which last week was re-released (with bonus material) on vinyl for the first time in 10 years.

Unlike many “album” shows, the trio didn’t play it front to back. But they kicked off the set with four in a row from “Fever to Tell” before fast-forwarding in their catalog to “Gold Lion” (2006), “Under the Earth” (2013) and, to the crowd’s unanimous approval, “Zero” (2009). Their huge hit “Maps” came near the end of the main set, which finished with 2009’s “Heads Will Roll.” For their encore, YYYs busted out “Fever’s” hidden track, “Poor Song.”

Setlist: Modern Romance, Rich, Cold Light, Black Tongue, Gold Lion, Under the Earth, Zero, Pin, Sacrilege, Subway, Soft Shock, Maps, Cheated Hearts, Heads Will Roll. Encore: Poor Song, Y Control, Date With the Night / Tick.
