L.A. skate punks Cheap Tissue have arrived full of adrenaline, attitude and rough edges, and quite possibly a few other things that are not available over the counter. They are here to rattle cages and start parties, proclaiming no adherence to fad and fashion. And, in fact, they have made an album of 2-minute noise grenades declaring a strong aversion to trends — although it could be argued they are merely reviving one from the late 1970s. Anthems for the disaffected are always welcome, though, especially if they are honest and can be washed down with a tall pint of give-no-f*cks. Cheap Tissue — singer-guitarists Andrew Taylor and Jesse Youngblood, along with bassist John Tyree and Matt Spizer — seem to have found that. Their self-titled debut album, produced by Ignacio Gonzalez, will be out March 2 on all-things-retro Lolipop Records. Proceed … without any caution whatsoever.
