L.A. rockers Cherry Glazerr wound up the year with a hometown show at the Fonda Theatre on Friday night, playing one new song in their set of indie-punk-psychedelic-pop tunes. The curtain came up for the headliners as they were dancing to Britney Spears blasting from the sound system. The stage was decorated with various papier-mâché creations, two of which were large cherries laying on each side of the stage. Prior to playing the new song, frontwoman Clementine Creevy jokingly called the audience a bunch of “stinky butts” before turning around and mooning them. Before coming out for an encore that had the mosh pit at its wildest, she played one solo acoustic song.
Shannon Lay opened the show, accompanied by Feels bandmate Laena Geronimo on violin. Multi-instrumentalist singer-songwriter Vagabon (Laetitia Tamko) from New York was up next, who wowed the crowd with her powerful voice, belting out lyrics sometimes a couple feet from the mic.
