Catching up on concerts news, including the busy weekend of April 28-29:
► Legendary folk singer Joan Baez, whose new album “Whistle Down the Wind” came out today, has scheduled a show at UCLA’s Royce Hall on Saturday, Nov. 10, as part of her “Fare Thee Well … Tour.” The album, produced by Joe Henry, includes songs written by Tom Waits, Anohni, Mary Chapin Carpenter, Josh Ritter and Eliza Gilkyson. Tickets ($39-$119) for the Royce Hall go on sale at 10 a.m. today here.
► The second annual Smokers Club, expanding to two days, will feature Kid Cudi, Wiz Khalifa (Performing ‘Kush & OJ’), Schoolboy Q, Mac Miller, Isaiah Rashad, 2 Chainz and many more. Two-day passes are $175 and single-day tickets are $99, both available here.
► 311 and Sublime With Rome headline Back to the Beach, a weekend festival April 28-29 at Huntington State Beach in O.C. Tickets ($49.50 single-day, $79.50 for a two-pass) are on sale now.
► Tickets are on sale now for Kaya Fest, billed as the biggest reggae festival in the world, on April 28-29 at the NOS Events Center in San Bernardino. Conceived by Stephen Marley on the 40th anniversary of his father Bob’s “Kaya ” album, it features Ziggy Marley, Damian Marley, Julian Marley, Ky-Mani Marley, Action Bronson, Common Kings, Toots & the Maytals, Ms. Lauryn Hill, Stephen Marley, Cypress Hill, SOJA, Chronixx and more. Passeds are $125 for two-day admission on $65 single-day and available here.
► Goldenvoice is expanding to the Bay Area and staging the Blurry Vision festival, headlined by SZA and Migos, on May 12-13. Tickets on sale at 10 a.m. today.
► The Cinco Cinco festival on May 5 at the StubHub Center boasts a lineup of Caifanes, Maldita Vecindad, Suicidal Tendencies, Tijuana No, Victimas Del Dr. Cerebro, Miguel Mateos, Kinky, Los Blenders and Mariachi Los Potrillos. Tickets on sale at 10 a.m. today.
