The Breeders sailed into the Fonda Theatre on Thursday night with a new album — “All Nerve,” their first in 10 years — and a healthy dose of sibling humor in tow. In all, the band played all but two songs from the new album, along with catalog favorites and some choice covers including the Pixies’ “Gigantic,” the Beatles’ “Happiness Is a Warm Gun” and Guided By Voices’ “Shocker in Gloomtown.”
Cherry Glazerr opened, and Elijah Wood did an eclectic DJ set.
The Breeders have one show remaining on their swing through the L.A. area, tonight at the Observatory.
Setlist: Nervous Mary, Wait In The Car, All Nerve, No Aloha, Divine Hammer, Bang On, Howl at the Summit, Dawn: Making An Effort, Safari
Drivin’ On 9, Walking With A Killer, Fortunately Gone, Shocker In Gloomtown, Off You, I Just Want To Get Along, Happiness Is A Warm Gun
Cannonball, Blues At The Acropolis, Glorious, MetaGoth, Gigantic. Encore: New Year, Saints, Spacewoman
