When Fiery Furnaces went on hiatus in 2011, Eleanor Friedberger embarked upon a journey of solo music. Now she has four albums resting comfortably under her belt, the latest of which, “Rebound,” came out May 4 on Frenchkiss Records. It’s named after an unusual ’80s-looking goth disco bar in Athens, Greece, only open after 3 a.m., that inspired her to incorporate more synth and energy into her songs than she had before.

The audience for her Los Angeles tour stop at the Moroccan Lounge on Wednesday night swayed under her spell, and perhaps that rapture is what rendered them so quiet and “polite,” as opener Gun Outfit put it. When Friedberger tried to get a rise out of her fans, a few voices chimed in that they were indeed a happy, if not boisterous, crowd, unleashing a bit of “Woooooo” and “We love you Eleanor.” During the encore, Friedberger honored a fan’s request to play their favorite song, “A Long Walk,” which she did solo. Inspired by this, another fan called out for “When I Knew,” but she couldn’t remember the first line (hey, it’s tough to be put on the spot!) and the bassist didn’t know it either, so they proceeded to lock into “I Don’t Want To Bother You” and “Single Again.” She’s already got another L.A. stop on the books, returning Sept. 25 to Teragram Ballroom.

Setlist: My Jesus Phase, The Letter, Everything, Inn of the Seventh Ray, Sweetest Girl, Your Word, My Mistakes, Other Boys, Make Me A Song, Roosevelt Island, Cathy With The Curly Hair, Are We Good?, Stare At The Sun, In Between Stars. Encore: A Long Walk, I Don’t Want To Bother You, Single Again
