Sofi Tukker, the New York duo of Sophie Hawley-Weld and Tucker Halpern, gave a colorful and engaging performance Wednesday at the Fonda Theatre, where the stage was made to look like a “Treehouse” (the title of their 2018 album) and there was much dancing, on the stage and off.
LP Giobbi kicked off the night with a DJ set before she was joined by Grammy-nominated singer Kah-Lo, and then by Hermixalot and Computo to perform their new single “Amber Rose” (which is a take-down of slut-shamers). Sofi Tukker came on, playful and joking, playing their foliage-covered drum pad in the middle of the stage. For one of their songs, they brought some of the crowd on stage to do their choreography, but the people they chose quickly abandoned the routines to do their own thing. Sofi went out and crowd-surfed at that point.

Turn down Sofi Tukker!? No way! I was there Wednesday night and their performance was fantastic. They had great new material and the show was well thought out and polished. BTW, thank you Buzzbands.LA for the tickets. One of the best shows I’ve seen in a long time!
