With lush songs featuring heavy imagery about the woods, coyotes and the astral plane, the Greek Theatre couldn’t have been a more perfect setting for L.A. indie-folk band Lord Huron on Saturday night.
Lord Huron had teased their new album “Vide Noir” at a Teragram Ballroom residency — which was ultimately cut short due to an illness in the band — back in early 2017. With “Vide Noir” finally having arrived this past April, frontman Ben Schneider spoke briefly about how grateful the band was to have such a large crowd for their hometown show.
As the moon lowered in the sky and took on an orange tint, the band covered Neil Young’s “Harvest Moon” during the encore. And to end the night, Lord Huron threw it back to their first EP in 2010 with “We Went Wild,” featuring Schneider on some wild percussion.
Detroit’s Stef Chura opened the night.
