Copehagen post-punk quartet Iceage raged long and loud on Wednesday night at the Regent Theater, turning the big room into a churning mass of bodies, most straining to get closer to singer Elias Bender Rønnenfelt.

The band, touring in support of their fourth album “Beyondless,” mixed some older songs — including “On My Fingers,” “Ecstasy” and “White Rune” — into a set punctuated by approving shouts from the crowd. “I’m so happy you are finally playing L.A.,” one fan bellowed. The pure physicality of the show was evident as Rønnenfelt mixed it up with the fans up front. New songs such as “Pain Killer,” “Under the Sun,” “Take It All” (with Nils Gröndahl’s violin) and “Beyondless'” title track sent the crowd into a frenzy.

The night began with a crisp set from locals Gun Outfit. Harpist Mary Lattimore followed with a serene instrumental set only interrupted by a joke she told while introducing her song “Warm Shoulder”: “What did the cannibalistic husband serve his wife for dinner?” Pause. “The cold shoulder.”
