Brooklyn trio A Place to Bury Strangers strafed the Regent Theater with sonic turbulence, strobes and laser lights on Saturday night, showcasing music from their new album “Pinned” and more.

Typically intense and foreboding, the noise-rock trio began their show explosively, with Oliver Ackermann throwing his guitar in the air and letting it slam to the ground multiple times during the very first song. Later, the band’s new drummer, Lia Simone Braswell, went into the audience while singing vocals on one song, and brought with her a huge beam of light shooting out from the crowd.

L.A.’s Sextile preceded the headliners.
