The lineup for Beach Goth 7 is here — and joining the hosts/headliners the Growlers will be Julian Casablancas’ rock outfit the Voidz, indie stalwarts the Drums, Australians Hatchie and Kirin J Callinan and an eccentric batch of artists ranging from rap (Doug E. Fresh) to rockabilly (Deke Dickerson) to funk (Prophet) to hardcore (Youth of Today) to metal (GWAR) to reggae (Yellowman and Barrington Levy).

A contingent of L.A. artists, including Bleached (“As the Ramones”), Midnight Sister and Starcrawler, also join the bill. According to today’s announcement, more artist will be added.

The festival, in its seventh year, will be held at L.A. State Historic Park in downtown L.A. on Aug. 5. It returns to the Beach Goth moniker that its founders, the Growlers, used during the first five years when it was held at the Observatory. After a legal dispute with the Orange County venue that hosted it, last year’s festival was simply known as The Growlers 6. With the legal kerfuffle settled, the festival returns to its original name.

Two fan favorites make their return to the fest: Beach Goth Island (a sandy reggae oasis featuring Danny Holloway and Peaking Lights’ Aaron Coyes as selectors) and Death of a Clown Cabaret (a “queer showcase of demented drag” staged in a circus tent).

Tickets ($66) go on sale here at 10 a.m. on Friday, June 15.
