LA shows for Thursday:

► Primus and Mastodon make their way to L.A. to co-headline the Greek Theatre, playing their respective new albums “The Desaturating Seven” and “Emperor of Sand,” both released last year. JJUUJJUU opens. 
► The Big Takeover headlines “The Ladies of Soul & Rocksteady Night” at the Satellite, also featuring local 2Tone and vintage soul singer-musicians Jackie Mendez and Xiantoni Ari, with DJ King Steady Beat supporting the night on the one’s and two’s. 
► The Sidekicks, with their newest release “Happiness Hours,” hold forth at the Hi Hat with the Spirit of the Beehive. Clear Capsule and Love Nothing open
► The Steady 45s also bring their rocksteady-punk-ska moves to the latest free summer show at the Levitt Pavilion at MacArthur Park. Maria Blues opens.
