Twin brothers Jared and Jonathan Mattson, aka the Mattson 2, released their ambitiously studied interpretation of John Coltrane’s 1965 quintessential album, “A Love Supreme,” on August 17 via Spiritual Pajamas, and delivered it in its entirety for the Lodge Room on Friday night, shuttling the audience to future-jazzy heaven, then played some of their original surfy jazz-rock material to boot. Oakland-based Anthony Ferraro’s Astronauts, Etc opened the show with tracks from his new album, “Living In Symbol,” including the Mattson brothers in the backing band.
