■ Part 3 of three parts of our Saturday Echo Park Rising coverage

For the seventh consecutive year, Buzz Bands LA hosted a Saturday soiree at Echo Park Rising, bringing 10 artists to the Champagne Room at Taix for an afternoon/evening party. What was witnessed:

Headliner Magic Bronson made you forget anything negative from the past week, or maybe month, as their set of sharp-witted electro bangers inspired happy pogoing to finish the night.

Swimsuit Issue infused the crowd with a heady wash of shoegaze interspersed with consciousness-raising poetry.

Oddnesse, with songs like “Are You Down,” “Trust” and the biting “It Runs Wild,” hypnotized with a voice that elevated all in the packed room.

Former Faces celebrated the release of their album “Foreign Nature” in interesting fashion — they played some feel-good psych-rock from the album and some new funky new songs with ratcheted-up energy and big grooves.

Storefront Church turned up the swoon, with Lukas Frank and crew adding a dash of plaintive, thoughtfulness that swept over the room. At times, heart-stopping.

WASI played a fun, energetic set celebrating diversity and the freedom to be exactly who you already are, non-conforming and all.

Jubilo Drive picked up the pace with their colorful brand of indie psychedelia rock, the crowd beginning their first dance moves of the night.

Slip (aka Taylor Brown) rocked a set of sharp new songs that you can’t hear anywhere but live, ending with his entrancing single “The Patient.”

Night Talks followed with a flair for the dramatic with passionate songs led by singer Soraya Sebghati.

Nicole Kiki Jaffe’s striking, sparkly voice and piercing melodies tore open the hearts of all at the start of the afternoon.
