Newly entrenched in Los Angeles after spending their formative years in New York, the Dig — David Baldwin, Emile Mosseri, Erick Eiser and Mark Demiglio — are nearing the release of their double EPs. “Moonlight Baby” and “Afternoon With Caroline” are out Oct. 19 (via Roll Call Records), featuring 12 songs in all, a collection of music that for now closes the book on the band’s Eastern Time Zone existence. The music was recorded at the Outlier Inn in upstate New York, produced by the band and mixed by Andrew Sarlo and the late Richard Swift.

Which brings us to the latest single, “Say Hello To Alison,” an effortlessly infectious pop song that’s like a long sip of sugary drink — albeit the kind that doesn’t leave you bloated. It’s all in the restrained synths and the precise, featherweight vocals. And it rings a little sweeter knowing that the song is about the first day in the life of a new father. So welcome, Alison.
