► Smashing Pumpkins (who played a 3 1/2-hour set Thrusday night) are back for a second night at the Forum, with Metric opening.
► In the first of three shows over the holiday weekend, composer John Williams marks the 40th anniversary of his Hollywood Bowl debut with the “Maestro of the Movies” program featuring the L.A. Philharmonic and special guest Steven Spielberg.
► George Clinton & Parliament Funkadelic hold forth at the Novo.
► Eli Paperboy Reed, visits the Bootleg Theater in support of his new album, “Eli Paperboy Reed Meets High & Mighty Brass Band,” made with a 10-piece band. Omar & the Stringpoppers and TJ Mayes open.
► Modern Time Machines play the Satellite behind their new album “MTM,” with Bizou, Empty Palace and High Priestess supporting.
► And with their new EP “Never Surrender Forever” just out, Juiceboxxx rocks the Hi Hat, joined by Charge It to the Game, No Win and Margot Pauline.
