Brother trio I, Us, & We make dark electronica that suggests both the sensual heat of the dancefloor and the forlorn expanse of desert near Temecula, where they conceived the tracks for their forthcoming EP, “Prism.”
Brothers Jordan, Evan, and Aaron Doverspike had a big 2017, riding the success of their single “Idol” (and its remixes) and then releasing the “Ceremonies” EP. The song earned the trio long-awaited rewards for finding a sweet spot between the whoosh of electronic soul and the bang of dance music.
Title track “Prism” — with its unyielding beat, prismatic synth lines and gleaming vocals — in a way reflects a their steely determination and the sibling bonds that can mitigate the hard work. The song “is about crisis, about going through crisis and finding that you yourself are stronger than you believed,” the trio says, “but also that you can lean on others and make it through said crisis together.”
The single officially arrives on Friday.
