Warm Drag released their debut self-titled album on Aug. 31 via In The Red Records. The latest excerpt from it, “Sleepover” is a dark and twisted thing. Part lullaby, part nightmare, with Vashti Windish’s light, airy vocals, languid tambourine contrasted with the wash of noise that trails across, it sounds like Mazzy Star being teleported through a haunted fax machine. In fact, the song is based on a true, scary experience, when Paul Quattrone found a Craigslist renter dead in his apartment after overdosing on Dust-off. Gruesome details: At first, police weren’t sure if it was a man or woman because the summer heat had melted the body over several weeks while Quattrone was on tour.
