Union, the Pico Boulevard nightclub owned by Mitch Edelson, has reverted to the name it used between 1973 and 2015, Catch One.

Under the stewardship of Jewel Thais-Williams, the club known as Jewel’s Catch One became the longest-running African American gay disco in Los Angeles. The history of the room at 4067 Pico Blvd. was the subject of a recent documentary movie (backgrounded nicely here).

In a statement posted to social media, the venue’s ownership team said:

The team here at UNION is pleased to announce that we have officially rebranded back to the venue’s original name: CATCH ONE!

Catch One has been a long-standing staple of the Los Angeles nightlife scene, and grew into a safe-haven for the African American LGBTQ community under it’s previous owner Jewel Thais-Williams. It felt right for us to pay homage to the venues rich history! Catch One will continue to book events that are inclusive to people from all walks of life.

Although the Union website is still currently operational, a new Catch One site has debuted.
