Co-produced by Zach Witness, Madame Gandhi’s “Bad Habits” was inspired by Fela Kuti, with guitar, congas, cowbells and keyboards dancing around peppy rhythms to underpin Gandhi’s delivery and layers of harmony. “Bad Habits” follows the July-released single “Top Knot Turn Up” with another empowering message from the 29-year-old, born Kiran Gandhi.
The Raine Allen-Miller-directed video “explores themes of building the world we want to live in. Re-imagining education, self-improvement, collaboration, radical self-reliance and prioritizing joyfulness as way of serving humanity,” says Harvard-educated musician-activist Gandhi, who made headlines in 2015 when she ran the London Marathon bleeding to address the stigma against menstruation. Not many artists have spoken at the White House and the U.N., but Gandhi’s on a mission and she’s unstoppable. Gandhi’s currently working on a new album called “Visions.”
