The celebration begins with a party with live bands at Cafe NELA on Friday night. On Saturday, there’s a program at the UCLA Music Library presented by the UCLA Punk Collective and Library Special Collections titled “The Zine Explosion… Archived!” There’s a panel discussion featuring other old-school zine editors, and Romeo will give the keynote.

Smashing Pumpkins and Florence + the Machine top the bill on the two-night KROQ Almost Acoustic Christmas, coming to the Forum on Dec. 8-9. The Saturday night bill is rounded out by Thirty Seconds to Mars, Third Eye Blind, Greta Van Fleet, Bad Religion, the Interrupters, AFI, Badflower and AJR. On Sunday, Death Cab for Cutie, Bastille, Mike Shinoda, Billie Eilish, Young the Giant, CHVCHES, Mike Posner and Lovelytheband also play.
