With or without his backing band the Violators, Kurt Vile proved a magnetic performer Tuesday night at the Wiltern, where he stopped as part of a long tour in support of his new album “Bottle It In.”

Fans soaked up all of the 16-song, 90-minute set from the beginning, when he played the new album’s opener “Loading Zones.” They cheered every note of the 10-minute “Bassackwards” and roared when he followed it with 2015’s “I’m an Outlaw.” The crowd’s reverence was shown the opposite way during “Runner Ups,” which Vile performed solo. You could hear a pin drop in the packed theater.

Jessica Pratt opened with a set of calming songs, including some from her forthcoming album “Quiet Signs,” out in February. The L.A.-based singer-songwriter thanked the crowd for “being nice, and thanks to Kurt for having us. It’s nice to be home.”

Kurt Vile setlist: Loading Zones, Jesus Fever, Bassackwards, I’m An Outlaw, Check Baby, Girl Called Alex, Cold Was the Wind, Runner Ups, Yeah Bones, Wakin’ On a Pretty Day, KV Crimes, Skinny Mini, Wild Imagination. Encore: Pretty Pimpin, Mutinies, Baby’s Arms.
