Recent developments:
■ Fat Possum Records has announced the reissue of the first four albums by legendary L.A. punk-rockers X. The remastered albums will be available thusly: “Los Angeles” (1980) on Feb. 22, “Wild Gift” (1981) on March 22; “Under The Big Black Sun” (1982) on April 12; and “More Fun In The New World” (1983) also on April 12. Anybody who pre-orders all four albums receives a 7-inch of X’s debut release, “Adult Books” (b/w “We’re Desperate”).
■ Prolific rocker Ryan Adams will release three albums this year. He first teased the news Monday by tweeting, “Remember that year when I released 3 records. Let’s do it again,” referencing his output in 2005. The first album, “Big Colors,” will be out April 19, and the song “Doylestown Girl” was premiered on radio this morning. The album was recorded in New York and L.A. and co-produced by the artist along with Don Was and Beatriz Arola. “Wednesdays” is the second of the three albums, and it features guests including Emmylou Harris, Jason Isbell and Benmont Tench III. No details yet on the third of the releases.
■ Speaking of new albums, Sleater-Kinney has one on the horizon this year, and it’s produced by Annie Clark, aka St. Vincent. They dropped the news on social media with a photo of the trio and Clark in the studio. No other info yet.
■ U.K. rockers Foals have a pair of albums coming this year. On Wednesday, they revealed the names in a tweet: “Everything Not Saved Will Be Lost, Part 1 and Part 2.” They’ve also scheduled some festival dates for 2019, only one so far in the U.S. Just sayin’: They’d be pretty perfect for Desert Daze.
■ And James Blake announced today that his new album “Assume Form” would be out next week. It’s his fourth full-length and features guests Moses Sumney, Travis Scott & Metro Boomin, André 3000 and ROSALÍA. He plays the Palladium on March 16.
