Five years past their 50th anniversary, legendary rockers the Who today announced that 2019 will bring the release of a new album — their first in 13 years — along with a 29-date tour with nights at the Hollywood Bowl on Oct. 11 and 13.

The Bowl dates mark the Who’s first visit to Southern California since the 2016 Desert Trip festival in Indio.

“The Who are touring again in 2019,” guitarist Pete Townshend said in the announcement. “Roger christened this tour ‘Moving On!’ I love it. It is what both of us want to do. Move on, with new music, classic Who music, all performed in new and exciting ways. Taking risks, nothing to lose. Looking forward to seeing you all.”

Joining Townshend and Roger Daltrey in the lineup for this tour will be guitarist/backup singer Simon Townshend, keyboardist Loren Gold, bassist Jon Button and drummer Zak Starkey. The Who will perform with orchestras at some of the dates, including the Bowl.

“Be aware Who fans!” Daltrey said. “Just because it’s the Who with an orchestra, in no way will it compromise the way Pete and I deliver our music. This will be full throttle Who with horns and bells on.”
