Philadelphia rockers the Districts rolled through Southern California this weekend on their “Fuzzy Dice” tour, and Friday night they had a few questions for the locals. “Why is the grass in Palm Springs so green?” frontman Rob Grote wondered. “I know you had rain, but still it should not be that way.” And “What should we do in L.A. tomorrow?” — since Friday’s show was the first of two nights at the Moroccan Lounge. A crowd member yelled out a restaurant recommendation, and Grote said they’d visit Venice Beach as well.

And there was music to go along with the banter. The Districts played four new songs — “Changing,” “Loving You,” “Sidecar” and “Loving Protector Guy” — to go along with selections from their 2017 full-length “Power Manipulations.” Now a five-piece, they also performed “Funeral Beds” from their 2012 debut “Telephone.” The show was the first of a two-night stand at the Moroccan, with a third SoCal date Tuesday at Marty’s on Newport in Tustin.

Chicago’s Deeper opened the night.
