Continuing to support their latest album “Million Dollars to Kill Me,” released last September, Joyce Manor strolled out into the Hollywood Palladium on Saturday night in front of their biggest crowd to date. Seeming somewhat overwhelmed with the roaring crowd in front of him, frontman Barry Johnson excitedly told the packed house that their first ever show was 10 years and 5 days ago, at a much smaller venue, naturally. He continually expressed how thrilled the band was to be playing there, and almost seemed like he couldn’t believe it was happening at all.

It appeared that the feelings were mutual because throughout their 25-song set the energetic crowd couldn’t stop moshing, crowd-surfing and bouncing along to the emo-indie-pop-punk soundtrack provided by Johnson, guitarist Chase Knobbe, bassist Matt Ebert and drummer Pat Ware. Joyce Manor continues their tour in support of the new album with a few more weeks in North America before heading to Australia and Europe throughout the year.

Jeff Rosenstock performed prior to Joyce Manor, starting off his set with an impassioned speech about crowd behavior. He stated that it was ridiculous that in 2019 girls were still at risk of being groped at shows, and if there was anyone in the Palladium who would do that, they should just leave. After receiving praise for this from the young crowd, he encouraged them to look out for one another and be vocal if anyone needs help. AJJ and Awakebutstillinbed opened up the show.
