Although the duo’s music might lend itself to electronic manipulation, VOWWS don’t have much use for remixes. “Why would you take a perfectly good song and ruin it and put a doof-doof beat to it just so a bunch of clubgoers can dance to it?” Rizz tells Billboard.

But the second incarnation of “Structure of Love,” from last year’s album “Under the World,” comes after an unusual set of circumstances. “Structure of Love II” was reworked to feature the vocals of Chino Moreno of Deftones, who had been a champion of the L.A.-via-Australia duo’s industrial “death-pop.” The single was produced by Danny Lohner, aka Renholdër (who has worked with Nine Inch Nails, Marilyn Manson, among others).

It somehow steepens the cinematic sweep of the original, as Moreno goes from soft to soaring as the track confesses, all too foreboding, “I can’t get you out of my mind.”
