All Things Blue are the musical explorations of singer, songwriter and guitarist India Coombs, a Pennsylvania native who’s found artistic freedom, a community and no small amount of psychedelic flower power since relocating to Los Angeles. A collaboration with bassist-producer Jon Joseph, All Things Blue shifts from garage-pop to an R&B/folk/Alice-in-Wonderland pastiche faster than you can tune a Fender.
“Yellow Heart” is the fifth single since All Things Blue single since their 2016 debut EP, “Duende,” and the second from the forthcoming EP, “Doomed to Lose.” It’s a true embodiment of ATB’s musical statement — to make “whatever the fuck we want,” Coombs says. In the heart-on-sleeve new single, Coombs’ heart might be yellow but it sure isn’t mellow. “Want to erase you from my head / think I’d be better off if we’d never met,” she proclaims before the song cascades into a rabbit hole of a chorus. It’s a kiss-off song interrupted by dreams, representative of the raw and conflicted emotions that snake through all of All Things Blue.
“Doomed to Lose” is out March 14.
