■ Wednesday: Celeste Tauchar — aka Talker — plays the Hi Hat in celebration of her debut EP “Horror Films,” which deftly straddles the alt-rock and pop worlds (stream it here). Tickets.
■ Thursday/Friday: Synth-pop sophisticates Ladytron, whose sixth full-length (and first in seven years), came out Feb. 15, return to L.A. for two nights at the Fonda Theatre. Thursday tickets. Friday (sold out).
■ Friday: Dorothy, touring behind last year’s album “28 Days in the Valley,” brings her band to the Regent Theater. Get there early for New York foursome Spirit Animal, led by onetime L.A. artist Steve Cooper. Tickets.
■ Friday: Speaking of Merge Records, the new Bob Mould album, “Sunshine Rock,” came out this month. Mould and his band headline the Teragram Ballroom, with local quartet Criminal Hygiene (whose new album comes out Friday) opening. Sold out.
■ Friday: Peter Murphy, along with David J, are on tour celebrating 40 years of Bauhaus. The tour wends its way to the Novo. Tickets.
■ Friday: Shannon Shaw (of Shannon & the Clams) and Pinky Pinky perform at the Natural History Museum as part of their First Fridays series. This year’s theme? “Forces of Nature.” Talks, museum tours and DJ sets included.
