Is it too much of a groaner to say that Winnetka Bowling League are on roll? No matter, we’ll say it anyhow.

The project is helmed by singer-songwriter Matthew Koma, who, prior to launching WBL last year, sang on singles by the likes of Zedd, Tiesto, the Knocks, RAC and Flux Pavilion, among others. Winnekta Bowling League’s self-titled EP, released last fall, was a retro-futuristic ray of California sunshine, not to mention a fine companion for the afternoons you just wanna drive up the PCH (or “On the 5”).

Winnetka Bowling League return April 26 with their second EP, “Cloudy With a Chance of Sun” via RCA Records. the lead single “Kombucha” is a hoot (rhyming “guitar strap,” “non-fat” and “Prozac,” for one thing) that’s all about mood elevation. “Covered my bedroom in white sage / to send all your bad waves / back with you to Fort Wayne,” Koma sings in a power-pop jam that could have been lifted from the catalogs of Beck or Weezer or both.

The band again worked with director Zack Sekuler on the video, which was filmed at the Elliott Salter Pawn Shop in West Hollywood.
