Hozier’s sold-out concert on Tuesday night on the Fairbanks Lawn at Hollywood Forever Cemetery was postponed because of high winds.

“The weather has been deemed unsafe to proceed and we don’t want to take any risks with you all,” the Irish singer-songwriter announced via Twitter just before 9 p.m. Throughout Southern California, howling winds that began in the afternoon and continued into Tuesday night caused widespread damage and power outages.

Hozier has four more dates, including tonight in Santa Barbara, on the tour in support of his new album “Wasteland, Baby!” The tour is scheduled to end Sunday in Spokane, Wash. Via Twitter, Hollywood Forever said they would announce a new date for the show within 24 hours. Tickets for Tuesday’s show will be honored.
