Breezy California indie-rockers Talk Time beguiled a jubilant Bootleg Theater crowd on Tuesday night. Celebrating the release of their new EP “Year of Self,” the band laid themselves bare in the lush songs of singer-songwriter Edson Choi, coupled with a projection of their new music video behind them. Going off script later in their set, the band played a cover Don Henley’s “Dirty Laundry,” along with the new song “Necessary Evil.” All in all, the amalgam of swirling visuals and their dreamy pop sounds had the crowd swaying into the night.
Opening the night was Opus Vitae, the solo project of indie multi-instrumentalist Banah Winn, along with Georgi Kay. With his seemingly endless vocal range, Winn mesmerized the crowd, beckoning them to dance — at one point jumping off the stage and dancing through the audience himself.
