L.A. concerts for Wednesday:

► Mavis Staples performs and is celebrated at the Theatre at Ace Hotel. Two months shy of her 80th birthday, Staples will be feted by an all-star cast including Benjamin Booker, Griffin and Taylor Goldsmith (of Dawes), Jason Isbell, Jerry Harrison, Joe Henry, Lucius, M. Ward, Phoebe Bridgers, Son Little, Trombone Shorty and the War and Treaty, as well as do songs from her new album “We Get By.”
► IDLES rock a sold-out show at the Fonda Theatre, supported by Fontaines D.C. at the Fonda Theatre
► Singer-songwriter Kevin Garrett does the first of two nights at the Troubadour in support of his debut album “Hoax,” with Minke supporting.
► Arizona indie-folk quintet Jared & the Mill visit the Moroccan Lounge, joined by Wildermiss and Chief White Lightning.
► And Australian psych-pop/surf rock band Ocean Alley plays the Echo. Get there early for L.A.’s the Morning Yells, who just released their album “On the Lash.”
