“Disco,” the new song from L.A. duo Surf Curse, is neither a disco song nor a surf-rock song. Breathe a sigh of relief accordingly.

It is, however, a dizzying, infectious post-punk track that’s liable to turn Surf Curse mosh pits into straight-up dance-floors. It’s also the first single from “Heaven Surrounds You,” the third full-length from the tandem of Nick Rattigan and Jacob Rubeck. The album, out Sept. 13 via Danger Collective Records, was produced by Jarvis Taveniere (Sunflower Bean, Woods) and finds inspiration in the duo’s affection for cult films.

The video for “Disco,” directed by Rattigan and featuring Liza Barzkaya, captures the spirit of the song, which supplies energy when you think you have none and sparks random bouts of dancing. Be careful of the furniture.
