Tuxedo, the sharp-dressed duo of L.A.-based Mayer Hawthorne and Seattle’s Jake One, return July 19 with the new album “Tuxedo III,” another heaping helping of squeaky-clean disco-pop for afternoon pool parties and nighttime excursions to the bottle-service regions at your favorite club.

It’s all very fun and reverential, and these guys know what they’re doing (they have eight Grammy nominations between them), so check your seriousness at the door. “The funk is here to stay / I’ll toast to that,” Hawthorne sings on the opener, “The Tuxedo Way.” And if you’re not all toasted out by the end, there’s the makeout anthem “Toast 2 Us” buried deep on the album. The latter song features Benny Sings, one of a handful of guests on the album, the follow-up to 2017’s “Tuxedo II.” Gavin Turek, DāM-FunK, MF Doom and Gabriel Garzón-Montano also make appearances, not to mention Seattle singer Parisalexa, backgrounding the latest single “Vibrations.”

Let’s see, this one has the pool party meeting, the electric magnetism, the feeling of “buzzin’ like guitars in rock ’n’ roll,” the exchange of zodiac signs and, finally, the assessment that the whole encounter is going like “knocking down shots from the three-point line.”

He shoots, he scores.
