Avant-garde rockers Figs Vision were well on their way to becoming The Most Interesting Men in the World, when in 2016, a year after the release of their full-length debut “Mother,” things went sideways. Principals Gunner Sixx and Jordan Spoliansky went separate ways, and one had only to revisit “Elle You’re Walking,” one of their brilliant collaborations with filmmaker Jake Saner, to lament a lost opportunity.

Then, says Spolianksy, “After some time had passed without speaking we were able to understand each other. Gunner reached out to me and we agreed to meet at a nearby shuffleboard court. We had a lot of laughter to catch up on. Neither of us had forgotten the joy of creating together, so we decided to resume.”

Now, Figs Vision — Sixx, Spoliansky, Zackary Darling and Micheal Musselman — has announced the release of a new EP, “Choo Choo,” arriving on Aug. 15. In June, they released the first single “Return of the Mystic” and this week followed up with the video for “Boy Pressure,” again a collaboration with Saner. They seem to have picked up where they left off, crafting hallucinogenic, weirdly engaging psych-pop out of yappy synths, falsetto vocals and fickle rhythms. Maybe a commenter on the new video says it best: “Well, I know what song I’m bringing to Area 51.”
